THE WAY I SEE IT
What started as a hobby with an iPad camera has grown into something I can’t imagine life without. Photography has become my way of noticing things. The laughter, the light, and the moments that quietly say, “this is us.”
Whenever I tell someone I do a bit of photography, the same questions always seem to pop up. Instead of repeating myself a million times, I thought I’d put it all in one place. Part story, part honesty, part “this is me.”
For me, photography has always been about how things feel. It’s not about perfect smiles or stiff poses. It’s about laughter, quiet pauses, and the little gestures that make a memory real. When someone looks at a photo and says, “That’s so us,” that’s my little win. That’s my why.
My first “camera” was actually an iPad back in 2013. I’d wander around taking photos of anything and everything, convinced I was capturing masterpieces. A couple of years later, I started posting those random photos on a tiny Instagram account called @misscocophoto, and by 2018, I’d joined an after-school photography course. That’s when it started to click; this wasn’t just fun. This was something I always came back to.
These days, I photograph a bit of everything: portraits, branding, agriculture, sport, whatever story needs telling. Each shoot feels different, and that’s what keeps it interesting. The variety keeps me curious, keeps my camera busy, and makes every day feel like a new adventure.
People often ask why my pricing isn’t the same as other photographers. I am still learning, still growing, and still building my client base. I want every shoot to feel fair and relaxed. No stress, no hidden fees, no pressure. It’s about creating something meaningful together. The big price tags can wait; for now, I’m focused on connection and trust.
If I had to describe my style, I’d say raw, authentic, and true to life. I don’t want to turn anyone into something they’re not. I want to capture the light, the energy, and the people exactly as they are, because that’s where the magic lives. I love posed portraits for their polish and candid shots for their surprises. To me, it’s never one or the other; it’s whatever tells your story best.
As for where I’m heading, I don’t want to stay in one box. My dream is to keep exploring, working with new people, and photographing stories across different industries. I want to keep adapting, learning, and finding fresh ways to see the world through my lens.
Photography isn’t my full-time job yet, but every shoot, every smile, and every late night editing feels like a step in the right direction. For now, I’m enjoying the process, one photo at a time. Because at the end of the day, it’s always about the people. Their energy, their excitement, their connection. When they’re happy, the photos follow naturally.
